Kirk was born the orphan son of a poor, black, sharecropper in Tumbledown Mississippi. At age 7 months, he left home to seek fame and fortune in the big city. Kirk ended up finding work as the assistant towel boy in an upscale brothel and waffle house. This is where he met Big Mama, who set him on the road to fame and fortune.

Unfortunately, she also got him drunk and stole his wallet. As a result, Kirk ended up in Silverdale, PA playing bass for the seminal semi-talented, perpetually drunk band Geezer.
